Half-Way There! 20 Week Pregnancy Update

July 25, 2018

So here I am, half way into my second pregnancy! I can’t believe how fast it’s going, much faster than with Noah. Maybe because running around after a toddler makes the time go by faster? Not sure, but I am excited to watch this belly grow. Last week was the 20 week anatomy ultrasound last week (yes, confirmed a girl!) and baby is growing nicely and everything looks good. We are happy and blessed it’s been a healthy pregnancy thus far. It’s all we could ask for.

There have been some days this trimester when I felt beyond tired, dizzy and just really overall fatigued. This surprised me because I should have so much energy in the second trimester. I decided to head to the doctor and turns out my iron was low, which can cause extreme fatigue (actually almost fell asleep in the waiting room!). I have increased my iron tremendously and taking supplement. It’s all worked because I feel much, much better.

As I write this, I am literally curled up on my pregnancy pillow that I just took out from under the bed. She’s ready for round 2! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have seen me talk about it a few times. It just helps so much. I’ve hit that time when your belly starts to get in the way while sleeping. This pillow works magic.

One thing I have been making a point to do is take more photos. Maybe have 3 photos when I was pregnant with Noah and regret it. Not sure why, maybe my body changing and not having any control of it? Either way, I try to take a picture at least once a week for memories sake.

I am still working out 3-4 times a week and starting to modify some of the activities, which is fine! It actually helps with some of the fatigue and gives me more energy, weird, I know. But just happy I continue to go. At 6 months, I completely stopped working out with N, so my goal is to making it all the way through. You guys need to encourage me to keep going!

Everyday, I take prenatal vitamins and these are really easy to take, don’t hurt my stomach. They satisfy my constant sweet tooth I now have. Before becoming pregnant the first time, I took them for almost a year before we conceived. They make your nails and hair grow, one of the great benefits of prenatals and pregnancy.

Another thing I can’t live without this trimester (even not pregnant) is the Burt’s Bees Belly Butter. After getting it in a gift set and tried it, it’s beyond moisturizing. I had heard lots of people talk about it and wasn’t totally convinced, but fell in love with it right away. I don’t have any stretch marks now, I am not sure it’s because of the lotion, but sure it helped, even a tiny bit.

Some of my other pregnancy favs are here. I tried to comment on each item so you guys could learn a little more about each product. Hopefully, some of these help you! I know they have been lifesavers for me.

Overall, I am just happy everything is going well and our girl is growing everyday. Pregnancy can be a stressful time. I worry a lot, even about the small, silly stuff. So thanks for being apart of this journey with me. We are all so incredibly busy, but if you are still reading this, thank you. I truly don’t take any of you for granted and love sharing it all with you. Every like, comment and words of encouragement go unnoticed. It’s more powerful than you think.

Until next time,

Christine
