Coffee with Christine

Checking in…

With the recent advisory/mandatory lockdown (it’s a little confusing, because it feels like everything is open…) I just wanted to check in with everyone. Sometimes it’s hard to really talk about everything in stories so as I am sitting here super early running on no sleep in my robe, I thought I would check in with you all.

So here’s how I am feeling. Manny’s birthday is this Friday, this is our usual week we would be planning our big Friendsgiving and Mila turns two on the 29th. November is usually crazy for us! And honestly, I am really bummed. We have canceled all gatherings. No parties. It’ll be just us for Thanksgiving and we might see our parents for Mila’s birthday, but now that might not even happen. So to say the least I am super super bummed. I know that it is absolutely for the best and we will continue to do our part by wearing masks and keeping our distance. But for real, when are we ever going to see great grandma or our friends?….Because it’s feels like forever. It’s like there’s no end in sight sometimes.

So I am sharing this because I want to let you know that whatever you are going through right now, how you are feeling, if you are anxious, sad or disappointed that you can’t see your family or friends. you are most definitely not alone. This holiday season is going to be rough and although I am so busy here with the blog and my part time, these feelings come in waves. As I am sure they do for you too. It sucks. Big time. And if it doesn’t suck for you, then maybe it’s time to look the COVID numbers around Illinois. They aren’t great or getting better….

I will continue to try and share things to do safely whether out or at home and know that I am feeling all of it with you. Although sometimes everything seems like it’s skittles and rainbows on the internet, it’s not. But what I will try to do is stay busy and positive, especially for the Noah and Mila. It’s really the only thing I can control at this point!

Anyways, I hope you are all safe and healthy as we enter this holiday season and please feel free to DM or email me at thechicagogoodlife@gmail.com

Until next time,

Christine
