Wines you’ll love

July 30, 2019

I am far from a wine expert, but I do enjoy drinking some good everyday wines with dinner during the week. Also, everytime I head to a BYO dinner or heading to a girls night, there are a few wines that I know pair well with almost anything.

I don’t need anything fancy, usually under $20 dollars and something to go with our dinner. If you are anything like me, I am always looking for wine recommendations, so hopefully these will be helpful for you. So here are some favorite everyday wines that you can find at your local store and good price point.

I have rounded up some of my favorite wines that you can drink with or without food any day of the week!

Charles Smith Wine of Substance

I found this wine at FoxTrot and I will have not found it anywhere else! This is now my current favorite wine that you can drink with or without food. I am actually currently drinking it right now 🙂

Since I am partnering with them right now, here is a code for $10 off your Fox Trot order whether you shop in the store or for delivery.

Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon

I found this at Walgreens on sale and am hooked! It’s an easy wine to drink while cooking dinner or to pair with any meat you might be having. I often see it on sale at Target too!

Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This Sonoma wine is at Target and almost always on sale! It’s priced around $17 dollars and I love it with any meat. When I go to my favorite BYO Argentinian steakhouse, Tango Sur, this is a wine I like to bring.

Le Tremble Demoiselle Rose

I found this at Costco for $14.99 for a 1.5 liter bottle. Not only is it a good deal, it’s my summer wine for sure. It’s peachy and citruses and perfect for dining al fresco. And since patio weather is almost here, it’s one of my favs!

Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc

A few years ago, I went to a tasting they held and fell in love. I usually find it at Target for around $11.99 and it’s almost always on sale. I roast lots of veggies in the summer and it pairs perfectly with it. It’s pretty versatile and great on it’s own.

Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio

Coming in around $19.99 at Target, this pinto grigio is pretty dry and I think it’s perfect for sushi and any shellfish, although it is pretty versatile and would pair with much more. This is one of those wines that I often bring to my BYO sushi nights with my girlfriends.

Whispering Angel Rose

This is probably the wine you see the most over the summer. In fact, when I asked you all on Instagram your favorites, this was the most popular. It comes in around $19.99 at Target. Although, I have seen it as high as $30 at other retailers, Target or Binny’s usually has it for under $20. The color is such a pretty pink, it’s got fruit, cherry flavors and is the best during the hot months. Fun fact- they did zero marketing when this wine producer, Chateau d’Esclans, launched in 2016, it was all worth of mouth!

Kirkland Signature Rioja Reserva

This is exclusively sold at Costco under $8 dollars a bottle, this is a 100% Tempranillo. It’s aged for 3 years in oak barrels, spicy and oaky. I absolutely love it! Great for BBQs because I find it pairs well with meat. And the cost is incredible. For a wine that is aged for this long, I would expect it to be well over $20 dollars, but you can’t beat this price point!

Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon

I originally discovered Josh when I tried their sauvignon blanc, which is so good by the way! But then I tried this cabernet sauvignon and fell in love. It’s perfect with meat or chocolate and you can find it at Target around $14. One bonus if that it is almost always on sale!

Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay

This is currently in my fridge actually! I never liked chardonnay, but as I got older, started trying different ones. Now, I am still super picky about chardonnays! I have only found it at Binny’s under $20, but have seen it closer to $30 at some other retailers. It’s oaky, little buttery and pairs perfectly with lots of cheese!

So that’s it! These are a few of my favorite wines. It’s nothing fancy, but all so good. Any of your favorites?

Until next time,

Christine
